These principles guide how IndieGetUp Editors research, write, and maintain our coverage.
Sources and evidence
We favor primary sources such as ingredient lists, product specifications, brand policies, certification records, and regulatory guidance. We use reputable independent reporting and research for context, and distinguish a company’s own statements from external evidence.
Health, ingredient, and sustainability claims
We avoid medical promises and do not treat marketing language as proof. Health and ingredient claims should be proportionate to reliable evidence. Sustainability claims are described with their scope and source when those details are available, including meaningful limitations.
Research is not the same as hands-on testing
Document research, comparison, and editorial assessment can be useful, but they are not hands-on testing. We only describe a product as personally tested when that happened, and we do not imply a testing process that did not occur.
Affiliate independence
Some articles contain affiliate links, which may earn IndieGetUp a commission from qualifying purchases. Affiliate availability does not determine our editorial conclusions, and marked affiliate links are disclosed in the article.
Updates and corrections
